Rally Drive in !

Through the range.  Durch die Hügelzüge windet sich die Strasse !

It is a 53 k drive to the Information Centre. However it is not just a 'drive' it is a roller coaster drive ! 

  

We are getting wet 'feet' - Wir werden nass.

 

It must have just evolved from the original old timers track going in and no one bothered to straighten it EVER !  Would make a really good rally - for those of you that can drive it !  Renata and Desi - were not so happy with our example of rally driving !  

We went to the southern end of the Bungle Bungles - which is the normal representation in all advertisement.

 We were at the Piccaninny Creek.

We visited the Cathedral.

Only Dad, Jurg and I carried on to the Window. 

I must admit that I was expecting a window a smidge bigger ! However as Dad said "They did say window not garage door !"  So if the 'Window' disappoints, the walk there does not !   

 The water has just made the rock look like it was soft at some point - all the whirl pools and groves in the rock - would love to see it flowing..... gently !

The children have been practising for their very own Bush Bash - as per SIDE (School of Isolated and Distance Education instruction) and used this time to practise and shout out loud in the car park whilst waiting for us to return ! They do need the practise !

As we are leaving the park a bit late we end up driving in the dark on the roller coaster road back to camp !  Sadly this leads us to have a flat tyre in the dark.  The only 'wildlife' we see are Brahman cattle.  Renata and Desi decide that they will not go back on that road !

We all sleep well, the kids dash off in the morning to look for fish - Gian-Luca catches one...... in a net, not worthy of measuring !  

Off we go, back to the NP, in one car, to the Northern side of the park.

Then a long walk to Echidna Chasm.  Well worth the walk and the hot day ! Many discoveries.
