Our Moscovy Male Duck |
In 2017 we made a chook tractor to move the chooks and ducks around. We had stickfast fleas & one of the ways to fix this problem is to move them every couple of days/weeks for up to 6 weeks to break the life/egg cycle. So this was the last place that we were moving them to. Moved here by my Dad and Francesca and Giulia. Do you know how hard it is to herd a chook ??!! We had a goat problem - Inyx, thinking that she was starving, pushed the fence over that you can see & the fox got 15 of our 30 hens & roosters !! - I'm not sure why we didn't lose any ducks (perhaps the duck was sitting up there all night !) We only found one hen dead body the rest of the 15 were taken somewhere. Needless to say, the surviving flock was put back in the main chook yard/orchard that night - with no flea problem.
Iynx Before we made a proper yard/paddock for her when she used to have free rein and we just fenced our space off from her. Below is Drim the buck.
Wish us luck that Iynx will have kids February 2020
