As we live in a high fire danger risk area openfires are not allowed at certain times of the year.
We can only have a fire in here during winter or outside of the fire danger season
No fires permitted -from about October till May.
This is one of 2015 Fires of Esperance, this is not the major fire. The major fire is described as the fastest moving fire ever recorded in Western Australia. The fire was spread across 300,000 hectares (3000square km) of Agricultural land destroyed 30,000 ha of crops, 4 lives were lost, 3 international farm workers and 1 local and it killed 4500 head of livestrock, homes were burnt to the ground.
Feeding time on Julien's bench seat. Jurg has been feeding them for a few months now. We have 2 males the come for food, the female just watches and now the 3 babies come for a noisy feed too.

We have all gone camping and thrown some potatoes wrapped in foil into the fire right ! Well, Julien has introduced us to adding Brie also wrapped in foil cooked for 15 min. You then 'pour' the cheese over the potatoes and eat - WOW ! - Potatoe fondue camping style Yummo.

| We have been so lucky with all our backpackers. Our Canadians, Mel and Jason visited us twice this year. Julien came for 2 weeks and stayed for 2 months. Julia and Damien, Julien found them somewhere ! |

We started making pizza when we travelled in the bus in 2013 for 5 months. We used to do it in or little BBQ webber thing. In Darwin we had 3 extra families involved, everyone makes their own and we cooked it. Now we do it with the kids and their friends, the backpackers and make a night of it.
