Alice Springs

We arrive in Alice and start licking our wounds !

We stayed in a caravan park - big 4 McDonnell range park - excellent ! and Washed, washed and....... Cleaned and cleaned and cleaned dust dust dust - needed two nights for that and needed to get something made up to fix the trailer,  so Dad and Jurg discussed the best option then fixed and fixed !

We had a quick trip to the Transport Hall of Fame. Well worth seeing some real history. Even supported by Esperance Freight Lines !   We also visited the Alice Springs RFDS Centre great education for the children.

Off to make camp 130 k's before Kings Canyon - cheaper to drive the car than the bus ! Making camp can be a bit of an issue with an adventure-istic husband !

The first camp would have been perfectly fine - it is not always greener over then fence - in this case the sand hill !

2 hours later and with the help of friends, made out of helping, (the husbands helped and the wives consoled !) The fuel consumption - we waited till the next fuelling to find out the damage.

Husband bogged 19 ton !

This is a picture of what happens when I don't say no !

I really should learn to say NO NO NO !!
Renata was inside the bus getting dinner ready. I spent my time videoing and photographing - needed evidence !

The kids played on the tight rope.

However we are learning the limitations of the bus AND how useful the 4WD tracks are, both car and truck tracks !  Now the investment of the truck tracks are paying off !  Also it was VERY handy to have Dad there to give a 'bit' of a tug as well !
Gian-Luca used good old muscles - and Jurg used his Bunnings connections and used battery operated reciprocating saw !
Dreams
I do declare that I have not found the 'time' that I was looking for, as a family and all the things I wanted to do and wanted the family to have time for whilst away ! We are so busy and seem to be really pushed for time. :(

Off to Kings Canon tomorrow.......

Love the Trees.
